The Law Offices of Teresita Marsal-Avila were opened in Chicago’s Little Village with the goal of providing underserved communities access to professional and ethical guidance.
In 1983, Teresita received her Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana. She began her studies at the Valparaiso University School of Law, Valparaiso, Indiana. While attending law school, Teresita interned for the United Nations General Assembly and sharpened her interest in international law. Teresita earned her J.D. in 1986 and was admitted to practice in the States of Illinois, New Jersey and U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
From her admission to the practice of law, Teresita has focused her practice in Immigration and Naturalization Law. She has over 20 years of experience in Immigration and Naturalization law and has personally helped thousands of individuals and families achieve their American Dream. Through The Law Offices of Teresita Marsal-Avila, Teresita and her team of attorneys counsel individuals on how to embark on their path to legal residency and citizenship in the United States.

Martin Perez joined The Law Offices of Teresita Marsal-Avila following an academic and professional career focused on Immigration and Naturalization Law. Martin earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois, in 1998 He was awarded his J.D. from Southern Illinois University School of Law, Carbondable, Illinois, in 2001. Martin was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2002 and the US District for the Northern District of Illinois.
His professional history as an intern with the United States Senate Judiciary Committee; a Law Clerk and Fellow with the Illinois Migrant Legal Assistance Project and an Attorney with the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago have made him a sought after speaker on Immigration and Naturalization Law issues. Academic, professional and personal experiences drew Massiel Ojeda to the practice of Immigration and Naturalization Law. Massiel joined The Law Offices of Teresita Marsal-Avilaafter earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Loyola University Chicago in 2002.
Massiel received her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2005 and was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2005.
While interning with The Midwest Immigration & Human Rights Center, Massiel enhanced her knowledge of issues in Immigration Law. Following admission to the Illinois Bar, Massiel worked for several years as a law clerk in the Law Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County.
